Earn a Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate at Aims

In just two semesters, you’ll gain the knowledge and hands-on skills you need to become certified and seek employment as a medical clinical assistant.


Your instructors will work closely with you while sharing real-world insights into what to expect on the job. 


You'll gain necessary clinical skills and knowledge, including:

  • Medical terminology for clinical assistants
  • Running basic medical tests, including for influenza and strep throat
  • Healthcare customer service and patient communication
  • Gathering patient histories, taking vital signs and administering treatments
  • A 90-hour clinical internship to gain professional experience and networking opportunities

Upon completion, you’ll be ready to sit for the professional certification required for employment through either American Medical Technologists (AMT) or the National Center for Competency Testing.

After earning your certificate and becoming a certified Medical Clinical Assistant, you can further your education while working in the field and minimizing student debt. Your Medical Clinical Assistant Certificate credits can also apply toward earning the Allied Health Professional Associate Degree.

Aims offers two Nurse Aide certificates. You can start by training to become a Certified Nurse Assistant in just 5-6 weeks. If you're interested in working in a more fast-paced environment, you can go on to earn an Acute Care Nurse Aide Certificate and work in acute care hospital settings.

This certificate gives you the necessary skills and experience to work in an administrative role at healthcare offices, clinics and hospitals. Learn to be the face of a medical organization, keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, and offer patient support with medical and insurance forms and paperwork.

Phlebotomy technicians play an important role in patient care by collecting specimens from patients for diagnosis, transfusion or donation. Learn safety and quality control procedures, how to safely draw blood and other bodily samples and how to work with patients and explain these procedures to them.
